What do you mean when you say “Yankee Ingenuity?”

What do we mean when we say “Yankee Ingenuity?”  All of us Americans talk about it.  We point to it when we see it in others.  When we have a “job” around the office or house that is complicated we are not afraid to call upon it.

Just as we get into “it” placing our hands around whatever the challenge is, just out of the blue, Yankee Ingenuity, seems to move us in the direction of solving the problem at hand. The solution may be as simple as going next door to borrow that special tool.  Or it may be organizing the job efficiently so we can catch the game. However, in some rare cases something happens that has never happened before.
