This last week Inventors-of-America hosted a booth at the ASBDC Annual Conference in San Diego. We had a great response from all of the business counselors and SBDC Centers. Inventors has set up to support your community, “Inventors” is now offering distance learning programs for SBDCs around the US. Our programs are set up to expand your out-reach into areas that you may not have been able to cover in the past. Our course- leaders are the best in the industry; with Richard Arnold, founder of Inventors; and Dr. Granville Ott, well know inventor and product development leader.
Inventors Distance Learning focuses upon areas needed to develop economic strength in our country at the present time. Both innovation and entrepreneurship are taught with key skill development in the needed areas of start-up and growth for the different sizes of business. Our goal is to provide the skills training to make the small business person competitive in the 21st Century. The distance learning courses are designed to help nurture technology and service based industries. This fall in 2011 we are sponsoring 2 core courses for the SBDCs.
The first course will focus on developing the necessary skills to be successful at product development and entrepreneurship. This course is supported by 3 of Inventors manuals that will insure that the SBDC Customer will develop the skills necessary to become a success.
- “Design to Cost for Inventors and Entrepreneurs” how to use design to cost to insure the commercial success for your new products and inventions
- “From Vision to Patents - for Inventors and Entrepreneurs” how the great inventors use vision to make money with their IP.
- “Finance for Inventors and Entrepreneurs”
The second core is set up to developing the necessary skills to startup and support a service based business. “Plan for Value” translates the principles of Design to Cost into useful business and economic principles for success in a service based business. :
- “Plan for Value – Insuring Competitive Advantage in Service Industry Based Companies”
- “21st Century Invention – Making Good ideas into Commercial Success’s” how to use the web to conduct searches to support Intellectual Property development.
- “Finance for Inventors and Entrepreneurs”
Each core course comes with the associated manuals full of case studies and hands-on exercises that will insure that the skills are learned. The manuals are included in the cost of the course tuition. Each course will also have a workbook associated with it that is organized to help each student move their good ideas forward. The Workbook is provided with course sign-up.
The core courses start during the week of October 3. The Design to Cost courses will meet on Monday and Wednesday night from 8:30 to 9:30 and the Plan for Value Courses will meet on Tuesday and Thursday night from 8:30 to 9:30. The core courses last for 4 weeks during October and then restart in November and again in December. Check our calendar for a course that suits your schedule.
