Inventors and Entrepreneurs Training for Colleges and Continuing Ed.
Why do you need a training program for invention and entrepreneurial skills? There is so much information available on the web and in books about invention and entrepreneurship; couldn’t a potential inventor and entrepreneur learn enough from this to become successful?
Of course they can; it’s possible, to put all of the necessary skills together to become a success. The history of inventors and entrepreneurs is filled full of success stories about individuals who are self-taught with regards to invention and entrepreneurship. The prevailing thought among most is that the most important skills you need relate to your internal knowledge about the subject area that you are working. The skills for IP and business development will naturally follow on with the good ideas. The key to success, according to this line of thought, is to come up with a good idea in your subject area, patent it, and then make a successful business.
If this line of thought actually worked; why then is it that only “one in 10 good ideas” ever makes a profit? Why do so many businesses start-ups fail even though there is a sound basis for the product? The reason is that the knowledge and skills for successful invention and entrepreneurship are not nearly as easily learned as the individuals who have been able to bypass formal training would like for you to think. Invention and entrepreneurship are equally complex skills to the subject areas that you might be inventing within. If you are practicing “successful invention and entrepreneurship” you may even be working with marginal ideas and find that you can make them into a profitable product.
So how can you beat the odds of better than one in 10? Your best bet for success if you are and inventor is to align yourself and company with the sort of “mentor” that can make sure you get trained in the proper principles of invention and entrepreneurship. When you are looking around you need someone who can work with you and your firm, to provide you with the documentation, and hands-on knowledge, for the development of ideas into a commercial success. Inventors-of-America is just such a company. Inventors is a member of the Better Business Bureau. We provide training by the highest level of technologist.
